Online retailer Trouva has been crowned as one of the top five scale-up technology companies in the UK for the third consecutive year.
The Next Web’s (TNW) annual technology showcase Tech 5, which selects the top five tech start-ups from each country based on performance, growth and potential, has selected Trouva once again.
TNW, in partnership with Ayden, consulted a consortium of 100 investors, influencers, entrepreneurs and experts to collate the list, and the top five will join a community of the most exciting young tech companies from across Europe for the TWN conference in May.
The winning scale-up company from the community will be announced at an exclusive founder’s day event on May 8.
Trouva, a marketplace which focuses on independent bricks and mortar stores and boutiques, was selected due to its significant expansion across Berlin, Amsterdam, Madrid and Copenhagen.
Other selectees from the UK include Bulb, Transfergo, Perkbox and Revolut.
Myles Dawson, UK managing director at Adyen, said: “The UK has a proud heritage of innovation and these companies are carrying that tradition proving that this country is an excellent place to start a new business that challenges the status quo.
“From innovative fintech firms, to improving relationships at work, challenging the established energy model or changing how we shop, these companies are not just some of the most exciting organisations in the UK, or Europe, they are making waves on the world stage.”
