Ubamarket is set to be rolled out across hundreds of stores in Northern Ireland as the retail app launches a partnership with Henderson Group.
The Ubamarket app gives shoppers a real-time virtual map of the store they’re in, guiding them to each item on their digital shopping list in the most efficient way possible.
Whilst shopping with the app, customers can scan the items as they go and pay for them via the app, avoiding the need to visit the cashier altogether.
Its new partnership with Henderson Technology, a point-of-sale company whose technology is used in more than 450 stores across Northern Ireland, will see it integrate Ubamarket’s technology into its EDGEPoS system.
It will be trialled in a select number of stores initially over the next few months, but will eventually be rolled out across the hundreds of retailers who use EDGEPoS, including convenience store giant Spar.
“We are delighted to announce our partnership with the Henderson Group, and this is a very exciting time,” Ubamarket’s chief executive Will Broome said.
“Given that bricks and mortar stores are becoming increasingly competitive spaces, now is the time to embrace retail-tech to merge the gap between in-store and online for shoppers. Ubamarket provides retailers and consumers with a nimble scan-and-go system, allowing them to enjoy the convenient service offered on online platforms, in bricks and mortar stores.
“We couldn’t be happier to be developing our retail-tech journey in bricks and mortar stores with Hendersons and Spar as the world’s biggest food retail chain, and we are excited for what the future holds.”
Ubamarket already works with Londis, Budgens and Taste Club and is available on both iOS and Android systems.
