JD.com launches open source block chain platform to 3rd party retailers

JD.com has officially launched its blockchain open platform service platform JD Chain, giving third party retailers access to its leading technologies.

Companies using JD Chain will be now be able to build their own solutions from the ground up, without relying on pre-built APIs.

Alongside its launch the Chinese etail giant is launching JD Chain Open Source Community, where companies can pool resources and share their experiences with the platform.

JD.com’s tools will enable retailers to build solutions to become more secure, efficient and flexible, and can reach more than 10,000 transactions per second (TPS).

“JD has long been a trailblazer in pushing the bounds of blockchain’s potential to transform global commerce,” JD.com’s head of blockchain Xinlei Zhai said.

“Through JD Chain and the JD Chain Open Source Community, we are empowering enterprises to leverage the vast technological resources at our disposal to develop their own blockchain solutions, creating greater security, efficiency and transparency across all of their operations.”
