Google has launched a new tool to help retailers improve their online operations as many in the industry continue to struggle with the rapid digital transition.
The tech giant’s Grow My Score tool will give a retailer’s website a score and provide them with a bespoke report giving recommendations on how they can improve their online offering, including simple additions like intuitive navigation, live chat support and ensuring they are mobile friendly.
It will rate retailers’ websites based on 22 different metrics, which it says are founded on in-depth studies into best practices for online customer experience.
Grow My Store’s recommendations are also market specific and based on country-level research.
“For retailers of all sizes, their website is their digital flagship store, so Google wants to help retailers to make their online and omnichannel customer experience as appealing as possible to customers,” vice president on Google customer solutions EMEA Fionnuala Meehan said.
“That’s why we have built a tool that brings together all this valuable insight into one place and then uses that insight to create bespoke recommendations for retailers providing clear support and advice.”
