Hundreds of devoted Apple fans have queued for hours outside stores in anticipation of the launch of the new iPhone 11.

The now 12-year old tradition of queuing for a new iPhone every September has seen its numbers dwindle, thanks to a myriad of more convenient alternatives including home delivery and reserving the phone to pickup instore whenever is suitable.

Despite this around 100 dedicated Apple fans queued from as early as 3am in Sydney, the first Apple store in the world to sell the iPhone 11 range, to get their hands on the devices.

Dozens more were seen camping outside Apple’s store in Singapore, while around 50 customers were seen waiting outside its Regent Street store in London.
