Superdrug has launched a free 30-minute click & collect service across all 800 of its stores in the UK and Ireland.
Its new click & collect service will allow online shoppers to view stock levels of their desired product at their local store, then purchase and collect it within half an hour.
The health and beauty retailer said 30 per cent of online customers currently collect their items instore the next day, but it hopes its new high-speed initiative will encourage more people to opt for click & collect to help reduce its delivery emissions.
“We know our customers love the convenience of picking up Superdrug.com orders in our stores and we know they want to live more sustainably – avoiding the emissions that comes from ordering deliveries to their home,” AS Watson’s UK ecommerce director Matt Walburn said.
“Giving customers the ability to purchase online and pick up in 30 minutes with no charge is a key step in bringing our store and online business closer for our customers”.
Superdrug also hopes the service will alleviate pressure on store staff over busy periods, such as the fast-approaching Black Friday.
“The test of the new system will be Black Friday which is going to be one of the busiest days of the year,” Walburn added.
“We have some unbeatable deals for customers coming and this new service will allow our customers to find the deals they want while shopping online – and pick up the product fast.”
