McColl’s partners with Deliveroo to offer online deliveries for the first time

McColl’s has announced a new partnership with Deliveroo seeing its goods available to order online for the first time.

The partnership will see “daily essentials” including groceries, toiletries and household goods available to order on the Deliveroo app.

Initially 120 McColl’s stores will offer delivery via Deliveroo in “as little as under 30 minutes”, but the convenience giant says it plans to roll the service out to 300 stores in the coming weeks.

It adds that all deliveries will be “contact-free” to ensure the safety of customers, while items like snacks, alcohol and confectionery will also be available.

“We are delighted to be partnering with Deliveroo at this important time,” McColl’s chief executive Jonathan Miller said.

“We want to make it as easy as possible for our customers to get their daily essentials as they stay at home.”

Deliveroo’s vice president of new business Ajay Lakhwani added: “McColl’s has an excellent operational track record and together we can achieve national scale at pace.

“This is particularly important during COVID-19 when people are isolating and at home, especially the elderly and vulnerable. This partnership will help reach people right across the country.”
