John Lewis launches virtual fashion styling service via Instagram

John Lewis has launched a range of new virtual services allowing customers to connect with experts for consultations via Instagram.

The department store has reintroduced a number of consultation services virtually for its online customers after closing its entire store estate on March 23.

Customers can now book a one-to-one virtual appointment with a John Lewis’ fashion stylist for free via Instagram video calls.

“Our stores are currently closed, but we wanted to make sure we could still be here to bring you inspiration and advice when it comes to fashion,” John Lewis said.

“Which is why you can now book a virtual appointment with one of our Stylists through a video call on Instagram, where they’ll talk through your existing outfits, help you identify the pieces you’re missing and give you tips on everything from working from home style to looks to try on your next video call with your friends.

“You’ll finish the appointment feeling empowered to try new looks with your current clothes. Plus, they’ll create a personalised shopping list for you, which they’ll email to you for your reference later.”

To arrange a video call, John Lewis urges customers to reach out to their favourite stylist via instant message on Instagram.

Alongside its fashion consultation service, John Lewis is also introducing free virtual nursery decoration and home design appointments through its website.

John Lewis announced earlier this month that it would be paying its non-management staff an extra £25 a week for working through the pandemic, following a two per cent bonus it added in March.
