Tesco is providing its gigantic workforce with access to free digital mental health wellness tools in an effort to mitigate stressful working conditions during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The UK’s largest grocer is giving its entire 300,000-strong workforce free access to tools like Headspace and SilverCloud for the next 12 months.
Headspace is a mindfulness app which offers users guided meditations, helping them relax, relieve stress and get to sleep.
SilverCloud is an online tool offering digital mental healthcare programmes for organisations and individuals alike, offering a raft of resources and specialised courses for an array of issues.

“None of what we’re doing would be possible without the support of our colleagues, or the patience and understanding of our customers,” Tesco chief executive Dave Lewis said.
“There has been a huge amount of change in a very short time, and a lot for you and our colleagues to adjust to. Thank you once again for your support,” said Dave Lewis, CEO at Tesco.
This comes as Tesco announced plans to further increase its online delivery capacity to nearly 1 million delivery slots this week.
It aims to continue to expand to around 1.2 million deliveries a week and prioritise the most vulnerable and elderly customers.
The grocer also said it would begin rolling out a voluntary testing service for its staff this week, with plans to expand it more widely as the crisis continues.
