Mamas & Papas has launched the “UK’s first” virtual personal shopping service for customers stuck inside during lockdown.
New and expecting parents, including pregnant women who are classed as vulnerable, can now book personal shopping appointments online for the first time.
Following a successful trial, customers can now connect with expert personal shoppers on the shop floor via videocall to receive advice and live demonstrations of items.
The one-hour appointments are now available to book from between 10.30am and 6pm every weekday.
“There’s never been a more relevant time to embrace our community and be there for new and expectant parents,” Mamas & Papas marketing director Alex Holt said.
“Customers can chat to a real person, in a real store, and get an instant answer to any questions they have from the comfort and safety of their home.
“The virtual Personal Shop is a first for the industry and a big step forward for the brand.
“Although we accelated the launch in response to Covid-19, these digital services will continue beyond the restrictions as they suit the needs of busy parents. Ultimately, it gives parents a different way to engage and shop with us.”
The retailer is also hoping to launch a new free virtual “Parents to Be” group session to provide support and advice to expecting couples.
