John Lewis partners with Domestic & General to offer exclusive insurance on tech products

John Lewis has partnered with insurance giant Domestic & General (D&G) to offer cover on purchases ranging from TV’s to sofas.

D&G will now exclusively offer Protect Plus cover to customers purchasing mobile phones, technology products, appliances and furniture from John Lewis.

The company already covers 23.9 million appliances across the UK, and repairs or replaces nearly three million appliances every year.

According to John Lewis, which offers its own warranty on most products, D&G cover can be bought up to 60 days after making a purchase from the department store and the partnership will run for three years.

“This partnership is part of our commitment to provide the highest level of service for customers across our product ranges and complements our existing warranty proposition,” John Lewis director of services Sean Allam said.

“We know that our customers love the technology and furniture products that they buy from us, but we understand that accidents can happen. We want to provide our customers with the reassurance that if their product is accidentally damaged, we can make it as quick and easy as possible to get it back up and running.”

Domestic & General’s chief executive Ian Mason added: “We’re delighted to have partnered exclusively with John Lewis to launch Protect Plus. We created this unique policy to complement the John Lewis brand, providing a hassle free and customer centric approach.”
