AO.com has opened the doors to a new logistics centre in as it continued to build its third-party logistics business which now counts Aldi as a customer.
AO’s 100,000sq ft logistics centre in Crewe, the third in the town, will enable the retailer to ensure more of its customers can receive deliveries when they need it seven days a week.
It will also ensure the growth of its increasingly important third-party logistics operations, which helps other retailers fulfil online deliveries much like Amazon’s ‘Fulfilled by Amazon’ service.
Aldi, Simba, The Cotswold Company and Keter all currently utilise the service.
“This is a great measure of the confidence that our third-party clients have in AO,” AO’s managing director of logistics David Ashwell said.
