AO.com is hiring hundreds of new logistics centre staff amid an influx of demand for its goods during lockdown.
The online electricals retailer is set to hire 250 new staff at its logistics centre in Crewe after expanding the capacity at the warehouse by 115,000sq ft.
Like many online retailers who have seen a spike in demand over the last few months, AO has scrambled to expand capacity in order to fulfil a spike in orders.
Over the last quarter it has increased its distribution centre space by 225,000sq ft and has plans to open another warehouse in Stafford this month.
“We’ve been quick to adapt to meet increased customer demand and we’re investing in the future, adding more space and hundreds of new, quality jobs for people in Cheshire and Staffordshire,” AO’s managing director of logistics David Ashwell said.
“We’re proud to be a growing local employer with a history of creating careers in phenomenal business where the sky is the limit.”
“Every one of the new recruits will also be part of AO’s recently announced incentive scheme, the Value Creation Plan.
“The revolutionary new scheme is the first of its kind in the UK and will give every AO-er the opportunity to earn around one times’ salary linked to the business’ success over the next five years.”
