Amazon has launched Prime Gaming to offer its Prime subscribers even more free games and gaming content.
Amazon has rebranded its Twitch Prime gaming subscription service to Prime Gaming as it ramps up its free offerings and partners with more major publishers to offer exclusive content.
Since 2016 all Prime subscribers have had access to Twitch Prime which offers free PC games, free in-game loot for leading titles like Grand Theft Auto 5 and League of Legends, as well as a free subscription to its game streaming platform Twitch every month.
Despite this Amazon’s service has been largely overlooked, with audiences favouring rival services like Playstation Plus and Xbox Live Gold.
The retailer will be hoping to make more of its 150 million Prime members more aware of the service and boost numbers.
Prime Gaming will now allow loot to be claimed across all gaming platforms, including the upcoming PS5 and Xbox Series X, but its growing library of free games will still only be available on PC.
It will also enable to claim free games and loot directly from Amazon, meaning users will no longer be required to link their Twitch account with their Amazon account.
