Fortnum & Mason launch “Hungry Minds” podcast in digital push

Fortnum & Mason is launching a new podcast where leading figures in the industry will discuss “the latest food trends, science and ideas that will shape the future of food”.

‘Hungry Minds’ will be hosted by food critic and author Tom Parker Bowles will feature discussions about “the way we eat, drink and live” with everyone from food influencers to farmers.

The series launched last week with its first episode, featuring Sustainable Food Trust founder Patrick Holden, which discusses “why farming in harmony with nature is key to tackling climate crisis”.

Upcoming guests include chef and television food presenter Matt Tebbutt, food writer Bee Wilson and Australian chef Josh Niland.

“Fortnum & Mason has proudly celebrated and championed extraordinary food and exceptional experiences for over 313 years,” Fortnum & Mason said.

“This dedication and passion for intelligent conversation and culinary expertise has culminated in the creation of Fortnum’s Hungry Minds.”

It comes as retailers increasingly turn to podcasts to engage with their customers on a more indepth level, offering far more breathing space than conventional digital marketing.

Brands like Ebay, Boohoo and its sister brand PrettyLittleThing have all launched their own podcasts in recent years, but have achieved varying levels of success.
