AO.com is hiring hundreds of new staff across all of its divisions to meet a spike in demand for its goods despite the wider retail industry laying off thousands.
AO looking for 650 new staff across its retail, technology, mobile, logistics and financial divisions.
The roles will cover everything from social media experts, to software developers and gas engineers, and will be available at locations across the UK including Manchester, Crewe and Thatcham.
All employees will have access to AO’s new incentive scheme, which hands out bonuses to all staff when it hits its share price targets.

AO seems confident it will hit these targets, seeing its shares rise 6.5 per cent yesterday after reporting a 60 per cent rise in sales over the last quarter.
The recruitment drive forms part of an ambitious expansion plan, as the retailer prepares “for our next phase of growth.”
“AO went into Covid-19 fit and focused on the future,” AO founder and chief executive John Roberts said:
“The pandemic accelerated a shift in customer behaviour towards online shopping – we saw five years’ change in five weeks. We now have the opportunity to make AO a habit that lasts for our new customers.”
