AliExpress launches bonus scheme offering rewards for users who get their friends to sign up

AliExpress has launched a new bonus scheme for its users offering “instant rewards” for shoppers who get their friends to sign up.

Bonus Buddies has been launched in over 200 countries and regions worldwide, encouraging AliExpress shoppers to reach out to their friends “in this time of social distance”.

Every time a user’s friend registers on the platform they will receive a reward which they can take of their next purchase.

Once a user has accumulated rewards valuing over €20, they can withdraw their funds and make a purchase.

According to the company, the programme reached over 4 million Twitter users before within the first two days of launching, with an average of 2000 users participating in the UK every day.

“As the pioneer of the “shoppertainment” concept, we see enormous opportunity in social commerce,” AliExpress’ director of platform operations centre Shirly Yuan said.

“As the social contract continues to evolve, consumers are looking for ‘feel-good’ experiences to anchor them and novel opportunities to interact with friends and loved ones.

“We have been investing heavily to boost our offerings to continually serve our shoppers and sellers better. With the 11.11 global shopping festival around the corner, we will be pushing out more social initiatives across European markets to spread joy and benefit our shoppers”.
