The Range to launch 3rd party marketplace to rival Amazon this autumn

The Range is set to launch an online marketplace to challenge Amazon allowing “trusted” third-party retailers to list items and reach millions of new customers.

The Range Marketplace will launch later this autumn and is positioning itself as a simple, transparent alternative to its rivals, charging its partners no setup, subscription or monthly fees.

Approved sellers will be able to add their own listings and will receive exclusivity rights from The Range to avoid competing with other sellers on the platform.

Sellers will pay between seven and 20 per cent commission on sales, and will be required to deliver items to customers directly and manage returns.

The Range, which has over 180 stores across the UK and Ireland, says it receives over 15 million customers to its online platform per week.

“Aiming to help partners in reaching their business aspirations, The Range will provide support to marketplace partners from day one, enabling them to connect their products to the right customers and maximise sales,” the retailer said.
