Aldi has launched the first ever supermarket wine school offering free online classes with its wine experts.
‘Aldi Wine School’ was launched this week as a continuation of its popular ‘Aldiploma’ wine course, which launched in October 2019.
Its Aldiploma consisted of six individual modules covering everything from wine jargon, to grape varieties and how to pair wines with food, helping take budding wine connoisseurs “through the basics of being a wine buff”.
Aldi’s Wine School has added an additional two modules to the course in hopes of drawing shoppers with excess free time to its platform.
Modules seven and eight will provide a “Guide to New World Wines” exploring new and up coming wine regions alongside a “Wine and Food Matching” masterclass.
“Our entry-level Aldiploma course has already helped thousands of wannabe wine buffs to discover the best ways to taste wine, get to grips with their grape varieties and have the knowledge needed when selecting a wine,” Aldi’s managing director of buying Julie Ashfield said.
“The Aldi Wine School is the next logical step in our mission to open up the wonderful world of wine to all.”
