Ocado has launched the UK’s largest dedicated “B-Corp” digital shopping aisle selling over 1000 products from sustainable suppliers.
As part of its Eco Shop range, Ocado has launched a section dedicated to items from suppliers with a B-Corp certificate.
B-Corporations are a community of businesses which are dedicated to meeting the highest standards of social and environmental performance, public transparency and legal accountability.
According to the organisation’s own website company’s given a B-Corp certificate “achieve a minimum verified score on the B Impact Assessment—a rigorous assessment of a company’s impact on its workers, customers, community, and environment—and make their B Impact Report transparent on bcorporation.net.”
Ocado’s new B-Corp aisle will feature 1100 products from over 35 certified brands including Ella’s Kitchen, Innocent, Method, Charlie Bigham’s, Pip & Nut, Teapigs, PROPER, Alpro, Ben & Jerry’s and Cheeky Panda.
“Our B-Corp aisle is a really positive step for both our customers and our sustainability efforts,” Ocado’s head of sustainability Jo West said.
“We’re delighted to be making greener choices easier for Ocado customers by gathering all these amazing brands that have made a commitment to building a more sustainable future, in one easy-to-find place.”
To date 3790 companies have been granted a B-Corp certification across 50 industries in 70 countries.
