Amazon has officially confirmed that Prime Day will take place on June 21 and 22 this year after being forced to delay the event three times last year.
Amazon Prime Day will once again take place over 48 hours and include major discounts across the retailer’s entire platform.
Prime Day has been held in July since its inception in 2015, but last year it was pushed back three separate times.
However, Amazon is understood to have pushed Prime Day forward this year in order to boost figures in its second quarter.
The event was pushed back numerous times last year due to pandemic restrictions which hampered Amazon’s ability to operate its warehouses at maximum efficiency as needed for the shopping festival.
Despite being pushed back to October Amazon, which never released monetary figures of its Prime Day sales, said it was the “most successful Prime Day ever for small businesses”.
