MySize is set to launch a new AI-driven sizing solution specifically for secondhand clothes, allowing online shoppers to find their perfect size in pre-owned apparel.
MySize’s technology allows users to measure their bodies quickly and easily using their smartphone camera, aiming to help shoppers purchase the correct sizes clothing when shopping online and significantly reduce return rates for retailers.
In response to the growing prevalence of the second-hand clothing market, which MySize says will be worth $80 billion in the US by 2029, it has announced that it is developing new technology specifically for pre-owned clothing retailers.
Returns due to ill-fitting items cost retailers billions annually, but the problem is especially prevalent in second hand clothes where they deal with multiple brand working from a variety of sizing scales, and vintage clothes based on outdated sizing models.
Using MySize’s patented algorithm, users can use sensors already built into their smartphones to instantly receive highly accurate clothing sizes in any brand’s apparel.
With its new technology shoppers will soon be able to find out which size of second-hand items are an exact fit for them.
