The Hut Group (THG) has developed an award winning anti-fraud technology which won recognition at last night’s Retail Risk’s Fraud Awards 2020.
The tech, coined THG Detect, is used by THG’s own brands and its Ingenuity arm partners.
THG Detect won Most Innovative Online/Supply Chain Solution and was Highly Commended in the Loss Prevention Online/Supply Chain Team of the Year category.
The fraud detection platform was created by THG to clamp down on all manner of fraud and risk online which includes defending business sensitive data as well as customer details.
The tech contains a suite of tools such as machine learning, customer rules builder, API capability, device fingerprinting, business intelligence tools and link investigations to help fight fraud.

Since THG Detect launched, the company has seen a significant reduction in the five common areas it uses for its fraud platform monitoring.
THG claims that its anti-fraud solution is suited to businesses of all sizes and is already being used by a number of THG Ingenuity partners to help them expand their global D2C capabilities.
“With the huge surge in online shopping during the past year, it has never been more vital for retailers to protect themselves and their customers from the risk of increasingly sophisticated fraud attempts,” THG Ingenuity chief executive John Gallemore said
“The team have worked incredibly hard to build, test and implement THG Detect and we are extremely proud to win industry recognition.”
