JD Sports launches live stream commerce service in the UK

JD Sports has launched a live stream commerce service in the UK in collaboration with mobile video commerce platform OOOOO.

The service initially launched in July however is not being rolled out across JD’s other verticals including footwear, outdoor and fashion.

The continued success of the partnership has meant that JD now has its eyes set on other markets throughout Europe and North America.

Interactive video commerce has not quite taken off in the west yet, remaining more popular in Asia, where it was popularised by Chinese ecommerce brands including Alibaba.

The market is thought to reach $305 billion this year according to Forbes.

OOOOO’s main focus is delivery a platform that enables brands and retailers to embrace the live stream shopping space.

The platform launched in November 2020 and has seen over 300,000 downloads so far after successfully working with brands across fashion, beauty, sport and wellness.
