Amazon’s Twitch streaming platform had its data leaked in a major hack which revealed Amazon Game Studios next title.
“We can confirm a breach has taken place,” a Twitch spokesperson tweeted.
“Our teams are working with urgency to understand the extent of this. We will update the community as soon as additional information is available.”
The popular streaming platform, which is owned by Amazon, said that a hacker was able to access data “due to an error in a Twitch server configuration change that was subsequently accessed by a malicious third party.”
However the motive of the hacker appears to be to expose the company’s shortfalls and “encourage competition.”
Twitch said that it has “no indication that login credentials have been exposed,” and that “full credit card numbers were not exposed.”
Twitch is recommending its users to change their passwords in case.
The data leak did however reveal how much the top 100 streamers made on the platform between April 2019 and October 2021.

An anonymous poster on the messaging board 4chan released a 125GB file which they claimed included the entirety of Twitch and its commit history.
There are concerns from Twitch that more information will be leaked as the file was named “Part One” by the anonymous poster.
The leak also contained the source code for Amazon Game Studios latest release, however the details are yet to be announced.
