Amazon and the Co-op have extended their partnership to offer Prime members in Bournemouth thousands of grocery options on Amazon.co.uk.
Prime subscribers will have access to a wide selection of groceries from Co-op’s own branded range, its Fair-trade selection and other national brands.
The products are picked and packed by Co-op employees at the company’s Wimborne Road and Moordown store locations and orders are delivered by Amazon’s “Flex” courier pool drivers.
The areas covered will include Bournemouth and its surrounding areas including Ringwood, Ferndown and Broadstone.
The news follows the announcement that the Co-op last month made 10,000 SKUs available on Amazon to customers in Glasgow and surrounding areas such as Hamilton and Paisley.
The offering gives Prime members the ability to do “their full Co-op grocery shop” with same-day delivery and two-hour scheduled time slots.
“Our partnership with Co-op is another way for us to provide our Amazon Prime customers with more choice, value and convenience to shop for their everyday groceries,” Amazon UK head of grocery Olivier Girard said.
“The launch of Co-op on Amazon.co.uk means Prime members in Bournemouth will be able to use Co-op on Amazon as part of the benefits, at no extra cost, wherever it is available.
“Prime provides access to the best of Amazon, and we are looking forward to being able to expand the offering to more of the UK throughout the course of the year.”
Amazon has said it hopes the Co-op becomes a “nationwide service”.
The Co-op is one of three grocers to make its products available on Amazon after Morrisons and Booths, all three of which are sold in Amazon’s Fresh stores.
Co-op head of ecommerce added: “With convenience at the core of our approach we are committed to finding new ways to expand access to our products and services, and we are delighted to be able to share our products on Amazon.co.uk.
“Co-op on Amazon will offer shoppers a shopping experience, with ease, speed and, choice of great value products, conveniently.”
