Moonpig has created its first AR experience featuring a mini-game which will run in parallel with its Christmas TV ads and showcase gifts available this festive season.
The AR experience, which was created by 3D platform Poplar Studio and powered by 8th Wall, asks users to place a virtual Christmas sack in their living room and use their finger to catch gifts that fall from the ceiling.
At the end of the game, players can take a photo or selfie using the effects, to share on social media.
The game is scheduled to run up until Christmas day and is part of Moonpig’s ‘Joys of Christmas’ campaign of digital experiences and exclusive offers.
“We’re really excited about our first foray into AR, it provides the perfect platform to bring together our Christmas moonpigs and fantastic gift range,” Moonpig director of marketing and brand Simon Hills said.
“All wrapped up in a fun, but harder than it looks, game! I’m sure consumers will enjoy it and I look forward to seeing the levels of engagement.”
