Jisp launches new clubcard-style loyalty scheme

Jisp has launched a new loyalty programme, offering rewards to both shoppers and participating independent stores.

The free scheme, called ‘Jisp Rewards’, allows customers to earn points using the ‘Scan & Save’ tool by scanning barcodes in store indicated by shelf-edge labels and redeeming money-off coupons.

Once shoppers have accumulated 25 redemptions, they receive an in-app voucher granting them £2.50 off their next shop on any product in-store.

The voucher does not have to be spent immediately and they also have the chance to build up rewards to gather a larger discount off their total basket spend.

Participating retailers using Scan & Save have the opportunity to earn commission, with 2p each time a customer scans a code, and an additional 4p for every voucher redeemed.

A number of brands are working with Jisp and offering discounts of up to 60% on participating lines.

These include Mondelez, Friesland Campina, JTI, AbInBev, Heineken, Molson, Mars, Coca-Cola Europacific Partners, Graze, Kellogg’s, Nomad, Kepak, Lucozade Ribena Suntory, Britvic, PepsiCo and Hovis.

Currently, 120 stores nationally are operating Scan & Save, including Nisa, Londis, Budgens, Family Shopper, and Premier as of last week.

The firm said it expects this to grow to 200 in the next six-to-eight weeks, after confirming it had been registering 12 retailers onto the platform every day.

The news comes three days after Jisp announced a tie-up with Reposs offering its services to more than 2,000 independent retailers.

“This is our moon landing for every Scan & Save store today and into the future,” Jisp chief operating officer Greg Deacon, told betterRetailing.

“Retailers have been calling for a loyalty scheme that’s specific to them at no cost.

“We want to continue our mission of supporting independent retailers and helping their shoppers save money and be rewarded for doing so.

“I believe this is the single most significant opportunity to grow footfall and spend locally that ensures every shopper builds their loyalty with their favourite local store.”
