Evri to open new depot in Plymouth as online demand surges

Evri is opening a brand new depot in Plymouth this July, meeting online demand and creating 50 new jobs in the area.

As part of the delivery courier’s continuing investment into infrastructure, the new 60,000 square foot site at the Parkway Industrial Estate will be nearly twice the size of the current site in Plympton, which is managed by a third-party contractor.

The company is investing over £1 million at the new site, which will enable them to increase capacity and give them increased surface control.

Evri added that all existing permanent workers from Plympton will TUPE (Transfer of Undertakings – Protection of Employment) across to the new site.

“At our new depot we will be able to handle up to 480,000 parcels each week at peak times and provide a strong delivery service for the local community and a good working environment for our people,” Depot manager at the new site, Ethan Treble-Westlake said.

The depot will open near the Marsh Mills roundabout, nearby other retailers including DFS, Home Base, Next, and Costa.
