Amazon Fashion launches AR sunglasses tool

Amazon Fashion Europe has today launched its new virtual try-on sunglasses tool, with brands including Lacoste, Hawkers, Tommy Hilfiger and Polaroid.

The ecommerce giant hopes the new feature, available via the app from the Amazon Fashion homepage, will enable customers to make “better, more informed purchase decisions.”

To use the tool, shoppers simply choose a pair of sunglasses and select the ‘Virtual Try On’ option on the product detail page. Through the front camera on their mobile devices, they can see the sunglasses on, from all angles.

After trying the sunglasses on, users can also take a photo of them to share via social media.

On the Amazon shopping app, consumers can access over 1,500 styles of sunglasses, with further categories such as shoes “to be added over the course of time.”

“We’re thrilled to be introducing another innovative feature for our Amazon fashion customers,” Amazon Fashion Europe vice president Ruth Diaz said.

“Finding the perfect pair of sunglasses online that you will love and wear all year is now fun and easy with Virtual Try-On technology.

“We look forward to listening to our customers and brands enhancing the VTO experience with more product categories and styles to come.”
