Boohoo MD Mitch Hughes exits as several brands consolidate

Boohoo’s managing director of its Dorothy Perkins, Burton and Wallis brands, Mitch Hughes, has left the online fashion retailer as several of the company’s brands consolidate.

According to Drapers, Hughes is leaving the business after joining the company in April 2021, after Boohoo purchased the retailers out of administration from Arcadia Group last February.

The exit comes as the group has moved Dorothy Perkins, Burton and Wallis onto the Debenhams marketplace.

As a result, the three brands will still keep their individual websites.

The decision comes after the online retailer trialled consolidating its Misspap team with the Boohoo brand, when it purchased the brand for an undisclosed sum in 2019.

Prior to joining Boohoo, Hughes worked at Topshop as its managing director between June 2020 and April 2021, before this he the buying and designer director at the company.

The news comes as Boohoo’s CIO Jo Graham has also exited the online retailer after just three years leading its technology division.

According to Retail Gazette, she left the online retailer yesterday (12 October) and is set to take time off before her new position.
