John Lewis extends Christmas delivery options for last minute shoppers

John Lewis has extended its Christmas delivery window for online orders by an extra day, to provide some relief for last-minute shoppers.

Customers shopping online can now use Click & Collect until midday on 23rd December, with orders available for collection from more than 360 Waitrose and John Lewis branches on Christmas Eve.

Shoppers can also opt for next day home delivery on any orders placed by 4pm on 22nd December.

“While some retailers closed their delivery windows early, we’ve been able to extend ours even closer to Christmas – which is great news for all those last minute shoppers,” John Lewis executive director Pippa Wicks said.

“Our teams are working flat out to guarantee customers’ deliveries before Christmas and, while we have great capacity, slots are limited so book soon to avoid disappointment.”

The announcement comes after the retailer recorded its biggest ever day for Click & Collect as the number of parcels processed on the 18 and 19 December surged 25% compared to last year.

As well as steady orders online, John Lewis has also seen a leap in footfall across its stores, with last week’s customer numbers up 26% compared to last year.

In addition, the retailer has introduced its longest ever returns period, to help customers “spread the cost” of Christmas, with items purchased on or since 27 September eligible for refunds until 28 January 2023.

Have waited for nearly a week for a parcel fromJohn Lewis . Now l understand it is stuck in the hands of Evri …….. the worst package handlers in the country . Why can’t John Lewis deliver their own goods ? That has happened before . I cannot do click and collect any more as the only shop that did it where live has now been deleted . Not surprising as it offered a pathetic service . I am now faced without having Christmas presents for my daughter and granddaughter . John Lewis , please get your act together , l have been a card holder for over 50 years , and grew up with a John Lewis , then called Tyrell and Green in Southampton . Now l live in a John Lewis desert , so have to rely on click and collect , and now home delivery . And now that has failed . I give up !
