eBay reveals pre-loved trends heading to Love Island villa

eBay UK, the pre-loved fashion partner of Love Island, has revealed the new fashion mindset set to take over the villa – ‘Reflective Dressing’.

Speaking on the mindset, eBay UK general manager, global fashion Kirsty Keoghan tells Charged: “We are excited to announce one macro-trend that we think will be huge in 2023 and that’s the concept of Reflective Dressing.”

Bringing ‘Reflective Dressing’ to life, eBay’s pre-loved fashion stylist Amy Bannerman has curated four fashion trends which are heading straight to the villa wardrobe. These are ‘Tutti Frutti’, ‘Business vs Party’, ‘Dressed up Denim’ and ‘Heavy Metal’.

According to the online marketplace, the mindset will encourage people to reflect on the way they shop and dress, to recognise “the power of fashion as a vehicle for self-expression.”

“The initiative encapsulates the growing sense of reflection shoppers have on how they are shopping and importantly, how they can shop better. It’s also based on the idea that the power of clothes extends far beyond their ability to make you look good,” Keoghan says.

The trend and the four-micro trends created by Bannerman have already gone down well with the new Islanders, with a selection of the contestants viewing the clothes at a recent ITV press day.

“Many expressed an openness to wearing pre-loved too, with one islander in particular already being a vintage and pre-loved obsessive,” Keoghan adds.

“All Islanders spoke super positively about the partnership from the last series and were excited to find out eBay is the fashion sponsor again.”
